Leek Butter
Rich, creamy and slightly tangy, leek butter is very easy to make and has so many uses! Use leek butter to spread on bread, use as a white pizza sauce, a layer in lasagna, sauté vegetables, or freeze into cubes to add to soups. Simple!
Ingredients
- 3 medium leeks, white and light green parts, finely sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic, crushed and minced
- 1/2 stick of plant-based butter
- 1 cup of white wine
- 1/2 tsp of salt
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a heavy bottom pan and add the leeks and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are wilted but not browned.
- Add the white wine and salt. Simmer on medium-low until the liquid is greatly reduced.
- Blend on low until a spreadable consistency but not pureed.
Notes
This recipe makes around 1 cups of spread.
